Starting Solaris Administration

I’m posting this entry while staying in our Sun classroom @Linux-Plus attending the solaris 10 administration part 1 course by Ahmed Kamal, as a beginning to learning solaris administration.

I’m pretty excited to learn solaris and of course I didn’t attend the essentials course as it’s pretty similar to Linux essentials, knowing that I’m not a fan of solaris but it’s quite interesting and it has quite interesting technologies, so why not solaris?

Ahmed kamal is an excellent instructor for me atleast

because he is quite fast and I like that to avoid getting bored.

iPod nano 4GB

January 2nd, 2007

Today is my birthday (1/1/2007) and I’m really really really happy because my fiancee got me a crystal white Apple iPod iPod nano nano (her nickname is nano too ).

It sounds GREAT and it’s very very tiny as you can see from the picture, it has many features like “photo gallery, calendar, games, etc..” you can get more information about it from Apple website or of course Google.

I want to thank her very much for her surprise and happily I’ll start my new year (insha2llah).

Of course I’ve played with it using “iTunes” on windows and I found it very fun, and Of course again I was very afraid of having problems using it under Linux but surprisingly it worked just fine as milk and soft as silk , I’m using Fedora Core 6 with kernel 2.6.18 and it’s working fine with me.
Amarok detected the media as iPod and it was capable of doing the conversions to/from my files into the internal iPod file management format.
